Cybersecurity Student | SOC & Threat Detection Enthusiast | OSINT & VAPT Learner
Protecting systems one script at a time. National hackathon finalist, certified security practitioner, and builder of tools that close the gaps before someone else finds them.
About
I am Dev Gusain, a BCA (Cyber Security) student at Uttaranchal University, focused on vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, network security, security operations, and social engineering defense. I enjoy turning classroom concepts into practical cybersecurity work.
My work includes a Network Traffic Monitoring and IP Blocking Script, a USB Firewall for USB Based Devices, and hands-on analyst practice through Mastercard’s Cybersecurity Virtual Experience Program on Forage.
Outside coursework, I actively participate in hackathons, contribute to the Cyber Warrior Club, and continue improving my skills in ethical hacking, OSINT, secure coding, social engineering awareness, and human-factor security.

Projects
A firewall-like solution that monitors live network traffic and automatically blocks suspicious or malicious IP addresses to improve network protection. Built to demonstrate packet analysis, threat detection, and automated response using open-source tooling.
A Python-based USB security system that detects USB insertion and removal events in real time, temporarily blocks unknown devices, and asks the user to Allow or Deny access through a web dashboard. The project includes password verification, whitelist/blacklist-based device control, Flask backend APIs, MongoDB activity logs, and a responsive HTML/CSS/JavaScript interface for monitoring blocked, allowed, and detected USB devices.
